Highlights from street ministry via a friend....

  • Norman-desert storm veteran and security guard-wants a job bad and ready to role-can pass background checks, this is a solid individual..per Norman, I need to get back to work, I have a family to feed

  • Jesse, wants a job bad, any job. He went to Crossroads, A HOBO NATION supported ministry and has all he needs to make it happen. He pulled out a full page of potential employers in the area and said he was going to hit them all. "Fast Food restaurants are fine" I like Jesse's attitude

  • Nick...Just got job at Arrowhead Distribution near six flags....starts tomorrow and he is ready to role. A friend from our group encouraged him with a story of how her husband started in the warehouse of a large company and ended up running the place. Go get them Nick.
As  we were handing out hygiene kits tonight  I realized it has been a while since I sent a note to all of you thanking you for all the donations you have given to our ministry. Without the items you give so freely we would  not be able to do what we do. Your kindness and generosity overwhelms me at times as does it our friends on the streets. Lots of time they ask where do we get the things we hand out..... I am excited as I tell them from friends and family that they may never meet. I get responses like " wow, that is so nice of them to give to strangers", .... " please, tell them thanks" ....   Please know that while you may never go out on the streets with us in person...your presence is there in so many ways....

There is a continued need for men's pants, t-shirts and shoes.

As the summer months are upon us many of you will be taking trips and staying in hotels.... we pray that you will continue to get us the soaps and lotions to go into our hygiene kits.

Please be on the look out for washcloths, socks as those items are always needed...

We are very low on socks...... and we all know that our feet are happiest when they have  a clean pair of socks..... which means  the feet of someone who walks all day will sing and shout every time they get a clean pair.....

Being Obedient

I love it when GOD asks me to do something that is so out of the box...... More and more the issue of poverty and homelessness is in my every thought..... I pray that God continues to open the door for peoples lives to be changed and they are delivered from the bondage that entangles them in the world of homelessness....

Speaking of prayer GOD has a great since of humor.. a few weeks ago I was on my way to the store and as I was coming up to a bridge that little voice said.... Stop here and pray ... here was under a bridge in Monroe. Being the obedient one I am I said are you kidding, there is no one there,  Well lets just say the next 20 minutes or so were awesome.  Some me and God time...

That is what he wants us to make time for him....you don't have to be homeless, have finanical, medical or physical problems to go to him.. Don't get me wrong HE wants us to come to him when we have problems HE IS THE PROBLEM SOLVER but he also wants us to just come talk to him whe things are going good.

So I encourage EVERYONE from all walks of life to talk to GOD...
He is listening Psalms 66:19

He really does understand our every need :  Hebrews 2:11-14
He cares about EVERY detail of your life Matt. 10:30,31
